memnon has such sweet words for roxi but he hides so much from her. he says he wants to conquer the world for her but it sounds more like he wants it for himself. sometimes it seems he loves power more than he loves roxi and that’s a tragedy

i think this prequel adds very crucial information to the series and adds a lot of context to their relationship and why memnon is the way he is

I loved reading the original story of Rkxilana and Memnon. I would have loved to see more of Memnon's poinf kr view which is a similar sentiment I have in the first two books. I hate that Memnon's hubris is what leads to the coup and his downfall.

This is a prequel story, I believe for the best reading experience you should do this as published and read the other two books first although you could technically start here. I suppose right now it’s also not necessary to read either the main part of this story was already told in book 2.
- I’m not usually a lover of prequels but this was really good.
- It made knowing what happens to them hit a bit harder after following their origins story.
- it really makes me think about the characters a different way now and how memnon acted in the first book  and also about the ending of book 2
- i did however get a little bored by the last few battles, i understand this was their life but it was just a bit repetitive by the end.

Very enjoyable! Memnon's descent into madness and treacherous politics was as interesting as I imagined. SO. MUCH. SPICE. They are kinda the villains here, warring and fucking constantly, living it up and becoming utterly absorbed in each other in a toxic way. Which made it very compelling!

Also, Memnon is the most alpha warrior simp I've read in awhile. Thank you, author, for that.

I am so jazzed for the final entry in the Bewitched series now!
