I was so excited to dive into the beginning of what promises to be an epic love story between Roxilana and Memnon, and The Curse That Binds didn’t disappoint in delivering all the intensity, passion, and magic that Laura Thalassa fans crave.
Let’s be clear—if you're looking for a deeply layered plot filled with cryptic clues and intellectual puzzles, this might not be the book for you. But if your idea of a great read includes soul mates destined across lifetimes, ancient curses, powerful magic, epic battles, and a leading man who worships his woman in every way (yes, including the spicy ones), then you’re in for a treat.
Thalassa leans into her strengths here: magnetic chemistry, mythic world-building, and emotionally charged romance. Roxilana is fierce yet vulnerable, and Memnon? Let’s just say he redefines what it means to be devoted.
This is a book to get lost in, not to overanalyze—perfect for fans of steamy fantasy romance who want to feel every heartbeat, every betrayal, and every electric touch.

Easily my favourite of the series so far. A beautiful insight into Memnon and Roxi's past, with so much depth and longing and pain along the way.
In the other bewitched books, Roxi felt too reckless for my liking. Here, she was perfect; toughened through experience and having a perfect understanding of what she can and cannot fight with Memnon on. There was still a recklessness, in both of them, but this time I truly understood the behaviours.
