The Curse that Binds by @laurathalassa
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’m ashamed to admit I’ve had Bewitched and Bespelled on my shelves for as long as I have because TCTB just completely sucked me in and is not letting me go. 🤯🤯

This book is the prequel to the rest of the series and I’m honestly glad that I read it first before jumping into the other books… Roxi & Memnon.. their story.. their bond.. it was brilliant. I don’t even know what just happened to me.. I started the book and then I was done and screaming and fighting the urge to throw my brand new kindle.

This is high fantasy at its finest.

Knowing the end really didn't make it any less heartbreaking. I loved Memnon and Roxilana so much throughout Bewitched and Bespelled. Their fiery enemies to lovers energy was perfection, but getting to see their fated mate bond from the beginning was truly magical. Is there truly anything better than a fierce and ruthless warrior that's only soft for his wife??

This was absolutely everything I wanted and needed from their love story, and I'm so excited to get back to their present day.

Needed to be 50-75 pages shorter...it was fast paced the first half, then really dragged at 75%-90% through then picked back up at the end and tied into what we already knew from bewitched and bespelled. But I loved memnon & roxi's love story so much.

loved it but she dies

We finally know what happened all those years ago… and my  GOD.

I read the first two books and already thought Memnon did not do enough to earn any kind of forgiveness, but since we didn’t really know what happened, I gave him the benefit of the doubt. But THIS?

Reading about their relationship, Roxilana’s devotion, her loyalty? She stood by that man through everything, even when she didn't completely agree, even when she wanted something different. She literally followed him into death.

Yes, he was lied to, I get it. But she warned him so many times. She lost so much trying to save him. I know he loves her. I know he sacrificed, too. But after knowing everything, to treat her like that? To believe that woman??

No. He has NOT done enough groveling. Not even close.

I’m beyond excited for the final book. I need to know what happens next, and that woman better be dealt with 😤

And despite everything… I do want these two to end up together. They’re soulmates. What they’ve been through, what they’ve survived, what they’ve done for and with each other, no other love comes close.

But please… make that man GROVEL.
Beg.
Plead.
On his knees.
