Another fun Watch “who done it!?” It said something I thought was interesting. It says in the scriptures a million times that Kings are bad and that God doesn’t want people to have them, but people ALWAYS want them! What did Vimes say? That even in the most intelligent of us is a gapping hole that says “kings? What a great idea.”

And why does my auto correct keep trying to use Kong instead of King?!?! I mean, it’s a much more common word!

There was more profound stuff about what it means to be alive and about what it really means to have free choice, but other than good ideas it didn’t really stick in my head as strongly as this thing about kings that was pretty much a neon light every time they mentioned it.

“Rumor is information distilled so finely that it can filter through anything. It does not need doors and windows—sometimes it doesn’t even need people. It can exist free and wild, running from ear to ear without ever touching lips.”

Where to begin with how much I loved this book. I’ll start with one of the new characters I adored, Littlebottom. The new forensic expert joining the watch is a joy to see change and grow as the story progresses. Dorfl is another new character I found fascinating!

I can’t think of a single problem I had with this book. It was, in my opinion a perfect book (for me).

This was amazing! Our beloved characters from past City Watch books and the rest of the Discworld we see flourish in totally new ways. This is one of my new favorites of the series.
