*The narrator sounds a little differently in this one, like she has a cold/clogged nose.🤔

❤️Fav. Characters: Andrea, Derek, Ascanio, Julie, Ghastek
🙄Least Fav. Characters: Aunt B, Jennifer, Curran & Kate

This one is a little better than the last but not as good as the first 3 books. I can tolerate Kate a lot more here, at least. And Julie is back again—poor girl, but I'm curious what
her new powers will be now (that “obedience bond" is DEFINITELY gonna bite Kate in the ass later).
The big fight at the end is underwhelmimg; it's over fairly quickly and easily
(RIP Daniel - Wolf Alpha).
I zoned out for a bit throughout the second-half of the story, so I'll most likely forget most of this book's plot later and need a refresher.  I might have to take another [slightly longer] break from this series though because it's starting to feel like a drag. 😅🥱

4 stars. This started off super slow and I was getting a little worried, not even gonna lie because it takes a long while for this book to get going but it definitely picks up and gets really good.

Kate and Curran are officially together now and
Spoilerhe even refers to her as his wife at one point and then I proceeded to die all over the place
it was so great. They still have a lot of issues to work out but they both try to compromise and come to an understanding about a lot of things. Particularly Curran and his overbearing need to protect Kate when she is more than capable of taking care of herself. They do finally get on solid ground but it’s a really rocky road getting there.

I can’t really talk about this one without spoilers so I won’t say much but this one has some things happen that I just know is going to really affect the rest of the series and I’m excited to see what the consequences are going to be for some of Kate’s actions, especially towards the end.

I’m absolutely loving this series and these characters so much and I’m excited to get to the next one.

I liked learning more about Kate's super tragic past in this book, plus it was very exciting. Downside, basically no Rafael.

Hindsight with these books is really something. Our first glimpse of Roman! Kate and Curran's first time living together! Kate learning about her mom! I hadn't remembered much about the plot of this one, but I really enjoyed it on reread.
