“No one had ever looked at me liked that, like they could see past all my shields and pretenses to the imperfections I fought to hide. Like those imperfections didn’t matter, and not only did they not matter, but they were a reason for appreciation instead of an obstacle. “It was the first time anyone had seen me for me.”
I am in love with this book it was the perfect medium paced romance and I think that Asher and Scarlett were perfect for each other. The story was beautiful and the understanding and change between the two main characters was refreshing because we all know how I hate a horrible miscommunication trope. I really do like Ana Huang’s writing style and how simple but fun it is to read her books. As for side characters I do really like Vincent and I liked the amount of protectiveness he showed toward his sister, it was completely justifiable and didn’t seem all weird and brutish. I feel like it’s really easy to fuck up the protective older brother trope but Scarlett’s past relationship made Vincent’s actions feel more realistic. I can’t wait for more books in this series and am excited about Vincent’s book with Brooklyn they give me Jules and Josh vibes. Another side character I would like to see a book from is Noah, I love a single dad x nanny romance and am praying the nanny turns out to be Carina.
