Another fast, fun read. What I found most satisfying about this story was the handling of the "psychic", with the skeptic remaining a skeptic until the end and very thoroughly debunking the con artist in the process, which is what most "psychics" are. The rest are delusional. Usually TV shows or movies will leave the question of whether the "psychic" is real or not open, while hinting that they actually have supernatural abilities. Not so here, which was very refreshing.

This is a fun book, where the eccentric detective Adrian Monk goes on solving bizarre mysteries, with very plausible solutions. In this book #2 of the series, the scene shifts to Hawaii. Goldberg brings Hawaii alive with the amazing description of the locale, culture, sands, resorts. Now, I want a vacation in Hawaii (minus the murders)

Quick, simple read. Captivating but not very complex.

I enjoyed the book and Monk's quest to find the killer. Great location(who doesn't love Hawaii?) and lots of humor made this a fun read.

I did enjoy this more than the first one because I felt like the characters were more like they were in the show. I did enjoy the setting and how monk reacted to it. I did guess the mystery, but like I feel it’s obvious and not really why I read cozy mysteries.

Well they say the sequel is never as good as the original and this is very true. This book of course centers around a detective with severe OCD. However, he is magically able to fly because of a fictional drug that makes him not care about germs which results in him flying, swimming, sharing food with strangers. He turns into a "cool" guy with no drawbacks. He then immediately turns back into his normal self, solves a crime (obviously) and then takes more of the drug and turns cool to fly back home. The explanation of the crime was ... meh and the attempted plot twist fell flat. Ah well. On to number 3!
