Jesus!! That was a tough series to get through but I hate to DNF unless it's beyond redemption.
The whole series was very same-y but the last three had a few redeeming funny or endearing moments.
The spice is trash and very repetitive so by this book it had me rolling my eyes tbh.
These guys weren't my fav characters, both kindve boring but not as infuriating as the 1st books characters.
Glad that's finally over and I can move on.

Unfortunately, this was a very generous three star from me. The Takeover is one of my favorite books and that magic is hard to capture twice but I do not believe that Tristian Miles would ever have punched a door while screaming at his crying girlfriend to come out of the room she was hiding from him in. Christopher Miles though. What are you doing?
I liked that he took time to self reflect in his year abroad backpacking across countries but I don't feel like he was much different than when he started. His mother sat him down with his therapy notes from when he was 10 years old and said basically here are things to work on. Not once in the 21 years since then did anyone put him back into therapy or have a conversation with him about it? It just felt so odd. There were several time jumps that made transitions really choppy.
If this had been a standalone out of a different series (minus the scene mentioned above) I don't know that I would have judged it so harshly but I know what TL Swan is capable of and I'm afraid this wasn't it.
Thank you to Netgalley for a copy in exchange for an honest review. My opinions are my own.

A solid 4 to end the series (before the wrap-up of epilogues is released) and I went back and forth on loving and hating both of the MCs here! But I was happy to see Christopher get his HEA, even if it meant there had to be SOMEONE bending along the way, (insert eye roll)...
But for the love of all things holy, where was my epilogue?!? T.L. Swan, you gave me one with each of the first 3 then nothing here?!
(weeping into my Tito's...)
Here I am now, waiting not so patiently for Miles Ever After to come out...

I love Christopher downnnnn he lowk gives me golden retriever vibes, and I loved how he wanted Hayden to see him for him and not for his money and status.

3.5 ⭐️ my least favourite in the series of four books but I still really enjoyed it! I loved Hayden and Christopher’s story but the ending was bordering on ridiculous hence less stars than the other three. Sad the series is over!
