Good read. Didn't relate to it as much as I thought I would not being a binary trans man. But still interesting to listen to other people's experience of masculinity post transition

Interesting and thought-provoking. The author breaks down complex concepts well and the reflections about grief and his changing relationships with his partner and family are particularly interesting.
There were parts that felt very specifically American in ways that were harder to access, both in the author's experiences of masculinity and in geographical details (eg the different neighbourhoods in New York). I was also surprisedthere isn't much perspective from Eric - did he not want to be interviewed?

Ahhhhh this was a really excellent read. Eloquent, honest thoughts on what it means to "be a man" and how identity is built up (and changed!) over time. I love McBee's writing style!

Intensely emotional and moving. A phenomenal insight into the world of gender and toxic masculinity. Couldn't put it down.
