Sigma Force 6
After an explosion at the Vatican puts her uncle in a coma, Rachel Verona calls Grayson Pierce and SIGMA for help. It soon becomes apparent that there is much more involved than a simple attack, from mutated grain to an ancient mystery from the Domesday Book.
I freaking adore Rollins' books. Thick and satisfying, thought-provoking and exciting, with characters you can care for, even when they are essentially the villains of the piece. Seichan fascinates me. Such a complicated character. This installment allows us even more insight into her thoughts and emotions. I have to be honest, as much as I like Rachel, I rather prefer Seichan for Gray. I just think it is a better match. There was one result of the mission that I was sad about, but I won't go into detail in order to avoid spoilers. 4.5 out of 5.

I usually enjoy James Rollins' novels more than I did this one. It was kind of Dan Brown-lite.
Another great adventure! This one didn't quite hold up to the others, but it was a fun read. Glad the next one is already written and ready for me to read!
Doomsday Key is the sixth Sigma Force book by James Rollins. His series is action packed and this book certainly delivered. However, the varying point-of-view changes got a bit distracting especially at the pinnacle of some of those action sequences. I know generally this kind of 'holding-pattern style' builds suspense but I worry that new readers to the series might have trouble following all the characters.
I've liked getting to know the members of Sigma Force and how they play off each other. For certain, I will be reading the next novel in the series.

Entertaining but dull book; it's a good beach read as one doesn't have to concentrate too much into the plot, the pages are filled with lot of data about things remotely related to the story but it makes reading a bit boring at times.
Enjoyed this entry in the Sigma Force series. I like that Painter is becoming more and more involved in the story lines, he kinda faded away there for a book or two. If you've liked the other Sigma Force books this one should be no different.
Though I really enjoyed this latest installment in the Sigma Force line, I have to say it felt a little bit jaded. I was left wanting more, but not in a "OH MY GOD THAT WAS AMAZING GIVE ME MORE" way. I feel like the ending was way too abrupt and the issue they are trying to stop wasn't fleshed out enough. It's becoming way too formulaic at this stage. Luckily, Rollins has a new individual adventure (nothing to do with Sigma Force or it's characters) coming out later this year!!
I was fortunate enough to be able to meet Rollins at a book signing this year as he promoted The Doomsday Key. Now I'm almost tempted to ask him if he feels jaded with the series. That said, he did leave it open for something bigger to come. Hopefully he returns to his individual adventure routes and throws in somethings that leave me with chills again (hint: Amazonia, Excavation).
