Another fun thriller from Rollins that expertly and deftly combines interesting pieces from the historical record with modern science--and, of course, a healthy dose of guns, explosions, and intrigue. Small lesson learned: Reading two of the Sigma Force novels so close was probably not such a great idea. Although they are fun, reading one so soon after the other just made the formulaic nature of Rollins' novels quite glaring.
Another write-by-the-numbers "thriller." If you liked The Da Vinci Code, then you'll like this. Every chapter and section has its own little "cliffhanger." Like I don't know that they'll get out of their mess. Another unimaginative novel. The bright spots in this book were the interesting bits of (true) information that Rollins delivers about the pagans/Celts/Druids and the history of peoples in England before them; genetically modified foods and biofuel production and some bits about Catholic history. Other than that, ack.

Another excellent Sigma Force novel.
Another excellent addition to the series. Nothing special, but nothing bad either. Subplots and continuing arches for the next books are the most intriguing aspects of this one. I'll be continuing the adventure!

The Doomsday Key is a great international spy thriller underpinned with factual history and current issues that make the story come alive. In addition to making me want to read the rest of the books in the series, Rollins includes additional sources for those interested in learning more about the history he's incorporated into the book.

I picked this one up b/c I saw it when I was standing in the line at the grocery store, and I needed something to read. I haven't read any previous "Sigma Force" books, but it was a fun read, nonetheless. I would draw a simliarity between this book and books like "The Davinci Code"--the writing is quite poor in spots (really laughable phrases and descriptions at times) but the plot is AMAZING. If you're looking for "literature"--this isn't it. But if you need a quick read with suspense, cool history bits (even if it's fiction), and creepy theories, this one is it!
Another interesting book in the series... the good guys... sigma going against the bad guys... Guild... and as per usual coming on the top. This reminded me of the Bond movie plot point... restrict the water supply and control the people. Here, they plan on starving the people with ingenious crop modifications and generally dabbling with things they really shouldn't.

I tried to push myself to get through this. It had a, "The DaVinci Code" feel to it with the Vatican and all. Although I was curious about where the author was going with the ancient Celtic paganism and Celtic Christian twist to it. Nevertheless, it was too slow going. Moving on.
