Another silly book by Roald Dahl. I would have love to have read this to my classroom. They would have LOVED it. The illustrations in this edition were fabulous. I laughed out loud a couple of times.

Increased my rating the second time round because while I’m not the intended age range, it’s still a fun book to read with a message about not hunting that is good to teach children from a young age.

Story told from an eight year-old girl's point of view.

The girl has a magic finger that shows its magic every time she is cross or enraged. For example, her neighbors the Greggs.

The men of the Greggs; Mr. Gregg, Phillip and William love to shoot animals.

For the girl, it is a cruel act to shoot animals and completely outrageous. At the moment, the Magic Finger decides to show its powers which turns the members of the Gregg family to lose their arms, exchanged with a pair of wings.

A family of ducks take over their house and the Greggs have to live the ways of the ducks.

The drawings are really cute. Instead of arms, they have wings and I was all like "Aw..."

I love Roald Dahl writing about children who give bad adults their just desserts.
