So predictable and flat I kept waiting for it to surprise me at the end and make me rethink the bad opinion I've formed about it but it didn't and instead even ended up being even worse that I've thought.

This was a fun, campy, romantic, serial killer, suspense novel.
Gwen is recovering from the breakup of a long term relationship but when she has finally had enough she joins a new dating app called Connector. As she starts to put herself in the dating world she soon discovers each date seems to be worse than the one
before and she soon discovers there is a serial killer intent on killing all her dates.
This one kept me guessing until the end, but I will say the ending was a disappointment & somewhat nonsensical.
Although I did read & listen to this one , the audio was kind of uninspiring for me.

3.5 stars, rounded down.
What I liked: fun premise, engaging dialogue, witty jokes, and a unique use of flashbacks to fill in gaps of the story that don’t disrupt the central action.
What I disliked: the author chooses to write a male character who tries to describe the Bechdel test while knowingly failing at it in his own script…and it’s meant to be a winking nod at how terrible this type of man is…meanwhile the author himself fails the test in blatant fashion!! There are only two female characters even on the page and never once do they have a conversation that isn’t about boyfriends, fiancés and weddings. The lead is surrounded by men—her collection of exes, her co-worker, the two detectives investigating the case, the red herrings laid in front of her. It’s a shame that an author who was trying to avoid this very pitfall fell for it in such blatant fashion.
