Purdy. And a rather interesting experiment in turning a novel into a 32-page picture book too.

A sweet book about the power of childhood. Some people don't like how sweet it is, but I think we all need to read a book like this sometimes.

time to read all of my fav childhood classics to escape from the real world :’)

It's just so wholesome.

Can't believe it took me so long to read this. A very feel-good story about family and faith. As a Christian I was really happy to see how God was incorporated throughout this tale. There's a beautiful illustrated copy of this at my local library I'm definitely re-reading that version one day. The imagery was very gorgeous and I was very envious I was not breathing mountain air and looking at beautiful mountain tops. Also, had a hunkering for toasted cheese and goat's milk. NOM NOM
