I do not know why it has taken me so long to read this book! What a beautiful book it is! I picked it up because of reading “Steeped in Stories” by Mitali Perkins. My 11-year-old son is reading it right now as well because it’s on the Mensa reading list for kids and he said that, as soon as he is done with it, we should do it as a read aloud so his siblings can enjoy the story, too.

This book was so cozy and lovely! It was fun to pick up and read for short bursts at a time and be transported to the wonderful mountainside with Heidi and her grandfather. The sections in the city took me the longest to get through, and I very much felt Heidi’s desire to go back to her Grandfather’s house.

Now I have read all the Puffin Bloom editions! I also have an antique edition so I’ll have to flip through that and see if it has any illustrations, etc!

It's such a lovely tale for a progressive bed-time tale, don't you think? I listened to it as an audiobook while making art, and it's so light and innocent that it makes me want to cry.

One of my favorite classic stories.

This was so much fun!
I remember watching the TV show when I was little, but this was my first time reading the book!

This is a very inspirational, deep book.
It makes you think!

Such a gorgeous book. I knocked off half a star for all the God stuff, but I thought that actually almost added to the 1800s atmosphere at the same time. The descriptions of the alps are perfect, and having myself lived in Switzerland for 4 months already it was amazing to see Spyri describing them as she knew them all those years ago. Such a cosy and lovely quick Christmas read.
