This is a classic and a lot of it is so sweet, but there's also weird religious propaganda, and I can't get over the part where Peter throws the wheelchair off the mountain.
Delightful, scenic and inspiring.
It harkens back to an earlier time where nature and people intertwined effortlessly.
Where people were good and easy and grateful and kind.

When I was a child I had a DVD of a live action adaptation of Heidi, and I encountered the story in other formats, but I had never read the entire book. Though I was familiar with the story, I was still enchanted with it, it brought me back to my childhood, and because I am a sentimental woman, that's worth a lot.

A classic for a reason! A beautiful tale of an orphan finding happiness in the wild-flower-filled mountains. A place where lessons in morality are frequently peppered about & where good always triumphs. Heartwarming to revisit this story as an adult.
I have no idea why I never read Heidi as a child. A lovely idealistic story of friendship and kindness. I really enjoyed the simplistic nature of an uncomplicated life on the mountain.
