This book is an easy and fun read. It ticks also boxes for a good fantasy. Harris writing style feels effortless. Her world building is beautiful and the magic system feels natural. She weaves in the chosen one trope/heroine with special abilities  equally as effortless which feels like a breath of fresh air in the world of fantasy books. Jinx is relatable even if you are not as unflappable as her. The book does have a few unexpecte  moments and turning points but regarding the romantic subplot it felt a bit flat and predictable.

This book was a lot of fun to read!
The characters are well fleshed out, each with their unique skills and a distinctive voice. Jinx is a badass character but not in a superhero way. She's very hands-on and takes everything in stride. I was suspicious of Stone but grew to like him. They seem to make a good team and work well together. I thought they fell into their working relationship perhaps a little too easily, but then again, Jinx takes everything in stride and a paycheck is a paycheck. Also, she has a hellhound named Gato. Didn't I just say she was a badass?

The story is well-paced and just when you think you know what's happening, the author throws you another plot twist. The writing style is fluid and easy to read without unnecessary embellishments immersing the reader into the action.

I think Glimmer Of The Other is a great series opener and I can't wait to read more. I recommend Glimmer Of The Other to those who enjoy urban fantasy, mysteries, paranormal and detective stories with a twist.

A good start for the series, with fast paced plot and some interesting personalities. My main complaint is that FMC is very powerful from the get go, so there's no potential for development and . Also too many time traveling as a method to resolve some issues, but not others
