I grew to love these characters so much, the author did an incredible job including descriptive language where I could picture details of every scene. I feel personally victimized by the end buuut guess I gotta jump right into the next book

GUYS. I have so much to say. That ending has me absolutely reeling.

I haven't really read fantasy romance in a while, so much so that I was asking chat GPT for suggestions. I have really been in a slump/not knowing what to read. This has been on my TBR forever, and I was just in need of an epic fantasy with good plot and a good slow burn enemies to lovers romance, so I finally picked it up.
This really delivered and was so much fun! I could not look away. This consumed me for the past 72 hours.
The way Diana moved up into a top 10 FMC. Definition of girl crush. She is just so strong, sassy, and fierce and loves so deeply. Like truly that BITCH. I am obsessed. This had some complex world building, and you definitely just get thrust right into the world and figure out what has happened as you go, but it was so good!! The character development was really good, you can feel the depth in our FMC so much, and just such a good cast of side characters (Logan, Neverra).
The romance was also soooo fun. There were just so many cute moments. The carnival, the walk in the garden with the flower. Ugh!!! I wish it had been a little more slowburn, just a little, it did feel like they went from enemies to lovers a little quick, but it was still a great time.
The only thing I struggled with, call it a personal problem is that it is urban fantasy. Probably need to view this as a crescent city type read, but I get so confused when it seems like there's high fantasy elements but also phones, cars, and modern day language.
Will be diving into book 2 immediately!
