Minus a star bc i can’t cope with dead native animals. Other than that this was the perfect short read, coddling in tassie nostalgia and devouring you in fantastical symbolism. ❤️

Wow. The second book I’ve read by Robbie and I think I’ve found another favourite author. Can’t believe this was his debut. Beautiful storytelling that made me both smile and cry. Couldn’t put it down.

Extraordinary. If I were to describe this novel, it would sound strange, and wouldn’t do it justice. A brilliant collection of diverse perspectives and styles come together to tell a central narrative. Just wonderful. Magical realism done brilliantly.
