Quick Summary: A Carpathian chronicle

My Review: Dark Carousel by Christine Feehan is book 30 in the long-running series.

About the Book: This installment features Charlotte and Tariq's story. She brings the color and emotions into his world. He brings the light and a family into her world. They find forever in each other's existence, after many obstacles, struggles, battles, and evil machinations.

My Final Say: As usual, the Carpathians have a lock on paranormal relationships. Although this volume was formulaic, it held my attention fairly well. I have no complaints.

Other: The best action happened in the last 25% of the book.

I gotta say, I really like the alphas who can handle a modern lifemate :)

Tariq & Charlotte are a great couple. There's a lot of cool elements in this book. I loved the stone dragons the triplets made. The kids are a fun addition to the heavy/dark aspects of the book.

While I miss the core group of familiar carpathians, it seems like some of them may be headed stateside for a bit. Josef and a Daratrazanoff healer are enroute. Tariq is acquiring quite a bit of "family".
SpoilerI wasn't surprised by Val's bombshell ... I had a feeling there was more to Liv. It has a Skyler & Dimitri feel to them.

I really do like the direction this storyline is headed for though. Now the long wait for the next book.

I love this book! I love how destined the characters seemed for each other.
I loved seeing things from the American side of things and how the Carpathians are creating a community on that side of the ocean.

*Some vague spoilers*

How the ancients in the previous book have made it across the ocean and you see their continued story, as well as the love story of Charlotte and Tariq. I love how sneaky and dastardly the vampires are become and how much faster the Carpathians have to step to stay ahead.

Very clever story! Thoroughly enjoyed it! I would highly recommend it!

This book was okay. While it wasn't great, it wasn't bad either. I am a dedicated Carpathian fan, and with so many books in a series, it stands to reason that not all of the books will be great.

I like that we are getting to see the ancient Carpathians from the monastery now on their journey to find their lifemates. I am intrigued to see how their stories will be written considering they have been living in seclusion for centuries.

I love the storyline of Val and Liv, it reminds me of the story of Dimitri and Skyler and I am intrigued about reading the build up to their story.
