This book was garbage. Awful writing, terrible plot, 100% of the characters unlikeable and mostly one dimensional. It tries to be Mean Girls meets Gone Girl meets Devil Wears Prada with the message of SPEAK. Have your teens read SPEAK instead if you want them to get the idea about consent. Absolute train wreck.

the writing was just so hard for me to get into. idk. it took me so much longer to finish than it should have because the switching viewpoints were confusing. i thought it would be more of a slow suspense build-up thriller type vibe but i was not expecting a school shooting
When I heard about this book, it was compared to Gone Girl. Not even close.
Was a great read and hard to put down, but very triggering in terms of the subject matter: sexual assault and gun violence especially
Stephen King once said ‘Every book you pick up has its own lesson or lessons’, I fear Jessica Knoll decided to do the exact opposite of this while writing this messy ass book.
Reading this forced me to believe Jessica Knoll isn’t the real author of this book but the people responsible for writing Riverdale are.

I read this book because I saw there was a film adaptation on Netflix. I honestly didn’t now what I expect and was shocked by what happened to ani both times. I was so mad at her for her actions with Andrew. I wish there was more development and discussion of fall out with Luke. Only reason I didn’t giv it five stars is I did find the writing style hard to follow at points. I’d have to reread a sentence here and there to make sure I understood the point. Also not a big fan of long chapters. There were breaks in the chapters so why not make them separate chapters. Overall I’d highly recommend
