my hot take is that I actually liked it better than the first one, sue me.

omfg i love these characters and i love their relationships w each other. i adore violets whole squad and i sobbed so bad when I thought they were all going to die (esp Sloane obviously).

Xaden and Violet are the perfect “I love you but I hate your choices” couple and it’s SO GOOD IDC

ON MY KNEES BEGGING FOR XADEN TO MAKE IT OUT THE OTHER SIDE OF THIS

Andarna >>> and that’s that on that

Hummm first off why did this book take me over two weeks to read? haha

I was kinda scared diving into this world once again because of how much backlash this book got on TikTok.
However, it was good overall. I think this could've been a 150 pages shorter maybe ? but yea haha

Looking forward to reading the next one though, I love these characters.

wtf was that ending….
i did not like that at all

overall i liked this book a lot, the beginning was super hard to get into but after the first 100 pages its fast pace and a lot happening. everything in the middle of this book was perfect but she lowkey ruined it with that ending…
like it felt super rushed and just random af
and i don’t know how to feel about it at all.

now i have to wait a long ass time to figure out wtf happened and how tf shits gonna work out

I liked the first one better, this was a difficult read. Not because of the plot, which was fitted very good in this complicated world. No, the writing was really difficult to get through, not engaging enough and the relationship storyline was quite annoying. It felt like it could have used a few more rounds editing and proofreading so it would have match the writing of the first book (??). Although the ending is a real cliffhanger and I am curious about what will happen now; I hope the writer takes her time for writing the third book.

I enjoyed the first book more than the second. At times this one dragged on a bit. The main characters flaws became a bit annoying too. I do think the climax of the book was fun to read though some times the plot would get a little muddled. Definitely leaves things on a cliff hanger. TBD on if I’ll read the next book if it comes out. I do think the writer needs to tighten up the writing a bit more.
