Words cannot express how much I loved this book.

A difficult read but I was fully invested by the end. The story is so much sadder than I anticipated and so different from the Disney animated film. Overall, a decent read.

I used this book for research and skimmed through it and took lots of notes. I only really like 120 pages just to read it and that is all I am counting

This was an interesting book and I did like the story, but it didn't flow very well and, in my opinion, had a lot of unneeded detail and irrelevant chapters.

great book! to be reread again soon!

Four stars? Five stars? Idk!!

I'm confused as hell why this random historical fiction book that's really quite problematic tbh hit me so hard, but it did.

OH MY WORD THIS BOOK WHY IS IT A CHILDREN'S MOVIE AND WHY DID IT END LIKE THAT AND I'M CRYING SO MUCH.
This book was beautiful. It was sadder than any other book I've ever read. Victor stirs up emotions in this book that I never thought I even had. Just, oh my word, I can't even think I'm so sad. Be prepared with tons of tissues. It starts out slowly, but when the action starts, wow, I couldn't put it down.

Firstly let me say this book is a bit on the wordy side for me. Some chapters (A Birds Eye View Of Paris) were completely and utterly irrelevant to the story and you can safely skip these without sacrificing any of the plot.
Aside from that, I loved the characters and the plot and the ending was remarkable. Absolutely nothing like the Disney film (but what did you expect?) but still, even without the happy ending (spoiler), this is such, such a good book.

I have definitely found my new favorite book! Unbelievable story and plot paired with the brilliant writing of Victor Hugo made this a book I will love and remember for the rest of my life.
