I have been meaning to read this for a while and FINALLY got around to it and...why did I not read it sooner?? The book was phenomenal! The world building was absolutely top notch. The characters were great and I actually found myself wanting to stay up to read it!

I fell absolutely in love with Locke and his mischievous ways, I mean how could you not. This came as a recommendation from a youtuber I watch as it is her favorite series of all time. I loved the trouble that Locke got into and continues to get into and drags Jean into sometimes also. I love the elaborate schemes that he comes up with and carries out and I can't wait to see where his story goes next.

The world of the book is unique, layering an old-world fantasy setting over some truly sci-fi technology and architecture. Practically all of the main characters are male, which isn’t usually my cup of tea. But the psychological aspects of the book were intriguing and I ended up really loving Locke and his team.
