Third instalment of the Lily Adler series and I enjoyed this one, even though the mystery wasn't an intricate as the other two books.

Like many others, I felt the absence of Jack Hartley, who complimented Lily and the author teased some sort of relationship between the two, only to add another into the mix on a stronger level in this book. I cannot say I dislike the twist in love interest, only I hope it plays out well for Lily.

Looking forward to reading the next book.

I worked out the who long before Lily did but the why was entirely unsatisfying.

I'm rather shocked that Lily and Matthew slept together at the first opportunity. And no mention by anyone, not even Ophelia, of what would  she do if she found herself pregnant!

Locked door mystere yay!!! I love those. I was able to guess who did it, but the why and most importantly how was a mystery till the end. However the second book is still my favorite in the series. I mean I was missing Jack and Mr. Simon Page quite a bit. Also my favorite love interest is who knows where, when other ship is smooth sailing. I really hope the author is not setting up a love triangle, cause most of the times I hate them. Also bonus points for the continuing POC rep and LGBTQ+. I will be there for the next realease.

Locked door mystery yay!!! I love those. I was able to guess the culprit but the why and most importantly how was a mystery to me. It was quick and thrilling mystery and I have to admit I love ghosts, especially false ones. However the second installment ist still my favorite. I really missed Jack and Mr. Page. Also my favorite love interest was gone, while other ship was smooth sailing. And I have a feeling the author is setting us up for a love triangle and I am really over them. Also bonus points for continuing POC rep and LGBTQ+. I will definitely be there for the next installment.

I liked this book better than the second one, but maybe not as much as the first one.

Lily Adler is on a quest to find out first off, if there is really a haunting being done at the Belleford manor. There are rumors that it is. She doesn't buy it at all, neither does her friend Ophelia. However, there has definitely been a murder there while she has been going on a visit to her aunt. She is setting out to find out what is going on.

The one thing that is key and missing through most of this book, is that our friend Jack is not in it as much as the first two books. What a shame (good thing he is back in the last book, which I am currently reading as I type this out). There is a new character, Matthew Spencer, who is dashing and starting to capture the attention of Lady Adler though. She has finally stopped her mourning period after three years and is thinking of what is next for her life.

I, as stated, enjoyed this book. I feel there are many people who don't believe there are hauntings, or there is an explanation for one, while others straight up are very into it all. The story is told very well and the investigation process is fun.
