I tend to always get so much out of the Bible studies that I do with my ladies group at church, and this one was no different. I have a special fondness for Priscilla Shirer, her teachings and the lessons in the workbook. This six part study was divided into two sections, the first 3 about faith (as Elijah is in Gilead, then by the Brook Cherith, then with the widow of Zaraphath), which directly affected his faith. We covered Elijah's faith, and lack thereof, at Mount Carmel, Horeb and how these lessons affect my life. I can't say enough good things about this study, or my time studying God's word. Excellent study, highly recommend!
A very thought provoking study! I was slow getting through it for various reasons, but it never failed that when I sat down to read that day’s study, it was exactly what I needed. It was truly worth finishing, even if it did take me 8 months, because God will always meet you right where you are!!
I just finished this study with my Bible study group and...WOW, I am blown away. This is a phenomenal Bible study that I have every intention of going through all over again because there is SO much to learn, take in and study. This Bible study has changed me in best way possible and it's exactly what I needed after a year of this pandemic. This was my first time reading anything by Priscilla Shirer, but it definitely won't be my last. She has a very special way of ministering from a point-of-view that is relatable and engaging; I felt like she was speaking directly to ME as a friend and sister. I can't wait to do more of her studies and I cannot recommend this one enough.
This book did an amazing job presenting life application and submission to the great commission. Before reading this book I had just breezed over Elijah’s story, stopping only briefly too observe his depressed state toward the end. This book helped to shine a light in my heart and expose some cobwebs of complacency.
