This was an absolute delight of a book that is perfect for a fall read. It is simply a must! Florence Day returns to her hometown when she receives the worst phone call, her father has passed away. Florence hasn't been back since she left for college, as she was ostracized after she solved the murder of a local boy with the help of his ghost. She along with her father has the ability to see and communicate with ghosts. This is a perfect fit in a way for them as they run the local funeral home. living in NYC she is the ghostwriter for an uber famous author but currently is suffering from writers block. Florence must come to the terms of returning to the town that she vowed never to return to but also she has a ghost following her around, her new editor who happens to be dead. In the book Florence and her family is described as a lovable Addams family and I love that. I will say that I would have liked more ghost encounters but that is my only criticism. Maybe we can have another book with these characters?
slow-paced
It was just ok - slow paced.
Florence is a romance ghost writer. She goes through a horrible breakup which leads her to no longer believing in love. During this time, she has a new editor who is on her to meet her deadlines.
Florence gets a call from home which causes her to have to return to help with the burial of her father.
The Day's own the only town funeral home. Florence and her father are able to see ghosts. When Florence returns home, one shows up and she goes through experiences to find love again.

This was mega-cute. It was cute AF. It was so charming I was kicking my feet and giggling at 1 in the morning. My face hurts from smiling.
I loved Florence and Benji, but what really liked was that this story was the story about a family and how they loved and took care of each other while grieving. There was romance, but it was mostly about Florence and her family. The romance had context and a real, meaningful backdrop to set itself against.
One quibble. I kind of hate that Ben had to fit the mold of an acceptable man. He was beautiful, dark hair, ridiculously cut, well-dressed and fashionable, and decently over 6 ft tall. Why is that always the requirement? Can a man have a freckle or a flaw?

This book reminds me a bit of the 2005 movie 'Just Like Heaven'; a little corny and predictable with sad moments but overall a sweet comfort read. Just like all of the other Ashley Poston books I've read this focused on grief (specifically the loss of a parent in this one) and finding love or happiness in those sad moments of your life. I liked Florence and Benji (they make cameos in A Novel Love Story and The Seven Year Slip). This book is in my opinion a cozy comfort read, like all of Poston's other novels

This was such an innovative, lovely, sweet romance. I’ve been tired of the tropes. This was truly unique.

This book was honestly just so sweet and so fun to read. I was absolutely hooked from the get-go.
I loved the addition of ghosts. Fun storyline. But I guessed the ending from the beginning. So, too predictable. Fell a little flat for me.
