Read this as part of a piece I'm doing on recent science books. It's a manga and an easy-to-read textbook about the universe! As a manga, it gets a little tough, but as a textbook it is a delight. Ice on Mercury? Who knew!

I really liked the concept of and the info is made easy to understand so it's good for both children and adults. The manga part of the book is about Kanna and her friends who find out that their Drama club is about to be disbanded. They then have to figure out how to save it while learning about Space and beyond.

That being said, there were a few issues. First being that the version I had was from 2011 so the info is slightly old e.g images of Pluto are missing. Then a lot of info was just presented in written form so that kinda got boring. Unless, of course, if there's an updated version out there which fixes these things which I'll have to check.

Overall, an adorable manga guide about the inner and outer workings of the Universe.

This was a fun and worthwhile read, despite being a hybrid between a text-book and a manga. Or rather, in spite of being one. There's enough information here to satisfy the majority of astronomy fans and to help the majority of high-school/college astronomy students, and just enough of a story to satisfy manga fans too. Overall, it's a fun read if you're a fan of both.
