I liked this best out of the trilogy. I found all of the different plot lines riveting, but the ending was a bit of a chaotic mess and not wholly satisfying. Still a very enjoyable read though.

Exciting conclusion to the series
As much as I enjoyed the first two book, they were slower paced compared to the edge-of-your-seat excitement in this third book.
It was so gratifying to have Lunzie and Sassinak in the same book. The added (mis)adventures of Dupaynil and Fordeliton were real nail biters.
I don't typically enjoy space sci-fi, but the Planet Pirate series is easy to follow without all the technical mumbo jumbo terminology.

It took me over a month to get through this, mostly I think because of the plethora of POV switches between scenes that made it difficult to connect to the characters I loved from the first two books, Sassinak and Lunzie. I did enjoy Sassinak's scenes in this book, but there was so much going on I had difficulty keeping track. By the time I got to the end, the deus ex machina by the Thek to solve all the problems and the suggestion in the very last page that Dupaynil deserves a romantic relationship for his heroism (which flies in the face of the feminist strides McCaffrey had exhibited in romantic relationships in the previous books) prevented even a satisfying conclusion to offset the chaos of the entire book. Very disappointing.

Some rough spots where the jeopardy to all went on too long but everything was wrapped up very well and though I would not mind another book I am not feeling that much was left hanging. I was saddened by the deaths of two likeable characters.

Another re-read for me. I enjoy the greater variety of adventures in this as opposed to the first of the series, and of course it has the final ending which is naturally more satisfying. Probably my second favorite of the Planet Pirates books, overall.
