It feels odd to call a book about grief lighthearted, but that’s what this was. I think it really captured the complexities of grief. It was still a gut-punch, but there were little quips and moments of levity that made the whole book.

Read this during a time of grief in my own life and it was such a warm hug!

I really needed to read this, not that it was easy, but I needed to find solace in someone who had gone through what I had. I lost my mother in late 2019 (yeah, months before the pandemic started!)

this is the first time I'm writing a review on here if I've misused the CW/TW section someone let me know and I can fix it

I highly recommend this graphic novel to anyone who has lost a parent (or anyone) to cancer and looking for some validation or something that can almost perfectly sum up all the conflicting emotions and thoughts that come with losing a loved one. It could also be a good book to give people in your life who may not know what you’re experiencing, so they can better understand how you may be feeling (if you’re not ready to have that convo!). Or if you have a friend who lost someone and not to sure what to say or do, definitely give this one a read.

This was good but not great. It very much felt like a grief project for the author which is powerful in its own way, but missed the mark for me.
