Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.

Another brilliant book from Jessica.

Hollie inherits The Starfish Cafe from her mom and has kept as many of her mom’s traditions as she can. She is still grieving the loss and of her family following a accident at sea and doesn’t want to let anyone get close.
Jake finds a dog wandering around on the beach and ends up in her cafe to see if she knows who the dogs owner is. The dogs owner has recently gone into a care home and can no longer look after him and her family decide they don’t want him either so Jake and Hollie decide to share ownership of the dog between Jake’s shifts as a nurse and the cafe.
There friendship blossoms slowly and they find themselves falling for each other. Can they put all the hurt from the past behind them and move forward together or will the past break them apart.

This was an extremely sad book.  Why is it a Christmas book.  It made my cry and gave me butterflies but the sadness was way more than the happiness. I literally can't rate it.

This is a wonderful book. I loved the hedgehog hollo series so was a bit nervous about trying any new titles seperate from that series of books due to the high standared that was set with it, i can however say i was not disappointed and this book was just as good. Jake and Hollie had lots to overcome. It was clear early in the book when they met that they were meant to be. The author handled the sensitive subject matter with care and compassion and who better than a furry friend to be a major part of the healing process. I am looking forward to getting to know the characters better as the series progresses. This author has hooked me in now and i can truly say i am a fan.

Snowflakes Over The Starfish Café is over if the stories that relies on trauma and a sad past as a main driver.
Do not read this if you're looking for a happy story, in here pretty much everyone is dead or dies, or at least it feels like it.

It's not an extreme tear jerker over all, add it often slips the actual loss, and we get told the story Street the fact, but it heavily deals with how it shapes the lives of the people who suffered through it.

Overall I really enjoyed it, but it got way over the top at times, with just how many people die, or are gorgeous families. While everyone who isn't a relative from hell seems to be amazing, lovely and warm people.

I liked the characters, the dog and the setting enough to not really mind it, but if you're looking for a realistic story in that regard, this might not be it.

My favourite part was how the tension didn't come from misunderstandings or construed drama, but from the characters past. They're way of treating each other was a joy to read.

dnf at 118 pages. so fucking boring, i don’t care about the 20 years of past bonfire nights why the hell were the 400 flashbacks necessary? they weren’t. i had a feeling this book was already going to be predictable “two people who have broken pasts, they think they can fix each other” blaaah blaaah blah. i hate the fixing each other trope, it can feed into toxicity i just ew. i also just hate predicable romance novels so i didn’t have high hopes for this book at all. too many time jumps, too many characters. the pacing of this book is awful too this book is 352 pages and it easily could’ve been half that LMAOOOO they unnecessary detail about their lives were like i said… unnecessary & added nothing to the plot at ALL. the dog, mr pickles carried. (sorry kizmew..)
