this was a joy to listen to, it’s consistently adorable and giggle-inspiring. it’s not particularly realistic, but that’s part of what makes it so lovely!

“Your whole life people will tell you, well, I could have done that, once you accomplish something. And you get to look at them and say, But you didn’t.”
-Nate Expectations by Tim Federle

So freaking cute! This book is exactly what I needed to get back into casual reading. This is what “it gets better” campaigns are all about. I’m not sure how realistic it might be but it’s definitely what Nate Foster deserves! Loved that we get to know more about Libby and his parents near the end. I think everyone is allowed to grow and that’s dope! This book inspires me to create, almost.

this is the thrid time that i am trying to write this review because everytime that i start writing i just have to stop and cry a little bit. that's what this book did to me.
technically it's not a sad book, but everything about it it's so perfect in a way that just makes me want to lay in my bed and cry (of happiness!!!) because this book is everything i KNEW i needed it but i thought i would never have.
nate is probably one of my favorite main characters ever: he is charismatic, funny, and he tells things in a way that makes you feel like you're talking with your best friend. sometimes i just wanted to go inside the book and give him a hug becausec he is so amazing and it hurted so much seeing how bad people treated him just because he choose to be himself even when everyone else always told him not to.
the first two books we're amazing, i loved follow nate's journey chansing his dream and then his journey during his dream. in this book nate is back home and things are different because now he is a broadway star and suddenly people aren't mean with him anymore and this is something so unusual for him that he barely know how to act.

"This isn’t how coming home was supposed to feel. I was all prepped to be hated. My armor was up for that. I know how to struggle through the feeling of being the underdog. I don’t have enough practice at being liked"

i loved the new characters and i loved even more the fact that, after all the hate that nate recevied from people for being who he was, he created a space safe for people just like him and found people that loved him for being exactly who he is. and also i love ben with all my heart.
i don't think i could ever be able to express how this book (the whole trilogy, actually) means to me, i just know that it helped me feel less alone and showed me that sometimes all you have to do is keep fighting for what you believe because, even if everything sucks, things will eventually get better.

Nate Expectations by Tim Federle is the conclusion to the Better Nate Than Ever series which began in 2013. Having not received a single Tony nomination and with dwindling ticket sales, E.T. the Musical has stopped its run and Nate is back home.

While Nate was in New York his school changed. The auditorium was torn down for a new gym. Drama is no more. And everyone now know about Nate and he's being treated like a minor celebrity.

I read this in a day. Very well done, I couldn’t put it down! I can’t wait to introduce this to my students. They’ve loved the whole series, and we’re not sure who enjoys it more—them or me!

When I picked this up I neglected to notice that it was the third book in the series, without having read the other two I didn't find much of a problem jumping into this one.

Nate is a theater kid who loves musicals and is starting his freshman year at a real High School after spending a bit of time on Broadway. In English class his teacher wants the students to thing beyond a standard (boring) book report and immediately Nate is going full speed ahead with making Great Expectations into what else but - a musical. The story is cute, fun and at times very touching but what made this book great to me was the seeming authentic, quippy, modern voice of the main character Nate. The author seems to be able to embody the thoughts and feelings of a theater kid. This book would make a great tv series or movie- come to find out that the author had a part in making High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

I think this was my fave of the three and I love the ending tbh. Just such a fun and cute series

Federle is a delight. This book made me laugh out loud or smile to myself multiple times. The Nate series is SO MUCH FUN. Read all three of these books!
