My second Riley Sager book and I liked it just as well as the first (The Only One Left)! It checked all the boxes for what I like in a thriller - fast moving, twists that I don't guess, chilling bits throughout, non-disappointing ending. There were some surprisingly touching moments included as well. Definitely recommend!

Riley Sager has never disappointed me yet! Middle of the Night had me flipping pages as fast as I could. It's a taught, well-crafted thriller that I was able to somewhat piece together, but still had quite a few surprises in store.

This was just okay. It didn’t really do much, it’s a bit repetitive, the plot was meh, there were red herrings but even they were just alright. Henry was cool, I love a weird kid. Other than that, there was really nothing to write home about. EXCEPT!!! I got (user)name dropped in this book. I’m now convinced he reads my reviews saying he should retire. HE’S THREATENING ME!!!!!!! But really, this is a pretty weak book for Sager. The ending was actually incredibly lackluster, like shockingly bland and boring. But perhaps I have finally and fully outgrown Mr. Sager’s books. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Unfortunately, I feel like with every new Riley Sagar book, I get more disappointed. I found this one pretty lacking in plot and energy.
The supernatural parts seemed like it was part of a different book shoehorned in, and really didn't feel well thought out.
