Finally! All I can say is finally. Karsak really used this book to push a lot the character development. The supernatural subplot took a bit of backseat while Clem figured out her own personal next steps. I think it worked for this installment in the series. Looking forward to the conclusion.

Clemeny is back in action. We got action, a mystery and a ball. More hints about what Clemeny might be, I'm sure it will all come to light in the next book. Agent Harper is back nursing a broken heart and PTSD from her case in Egypt. They solve this case without much trouble, but the outcome was heartbreaking for the wounded party. Which fueled my disgust for Lady Cabell even more. Here character was fairly flat. Just a sour disagreeable woman.
Edwin is a good catch but I stand with my assessment that he isn't for her. Her heart belongs to Lionheart. I still feel Lionheats reason for leaving was weak and he lead the young scientist on if what he said was true. Why not pursue a relationship with Clemeny right away? All that could of been avoided.
Overall I enjoyed the story and the ending was satisfying.
