Mehhh
The premise was interesting, as was the plot. This was one of the few books I liked based on the blurb at a physical book store. I also did enjoy the story, the plot twists keep coming and they're wonderful right up until the end.
However. I did not like the author's writing style or the characters' voice. I think this is the same mistake that Never Saw Me Coming makes (I say mistake, might be a personal preference that others might like idk). Because these characters are "psychopaths" (subtly in this book, literally in Never Saw Me Coming), the author makes them sound like they have the reasoning skills and internal monologue of a child. Just because they don't have empathy doesn't mean they sound like a CHILD. The simplistic style was GRATING. If the book was longer, or even slower paced I'd have had to drag myself through it. The author has such potential if they work on this though.
At least, once you strip the murder parts away obviously, there's good advice for marriage and friendships? I'll give it that. Solid 3/5.

entertaining and easy to read, but hazel and fox keeping all these secrets from each other the whole time was just really dumb of them and didn't have to happen. and i find it hard to believe that jenny would just be totally fine and forgive everything right away and join them? and that they would suddenly decide it was okay to kill again even with a child. also if i were hazel i wouldn't want to be with fox anymore after everything
