It has too many characters to keep track, I'm not a fan of having to go to the character's list to always see who's who and check their powers. It breaks the reading pace.

My God…

After I finished this book I had to stare out a window for a solid 5 minutes, simply because I was unable to function otherwise. Any book that makes me feel this way deserves the highest praise. I just think that I should have known, I’ve read almost all of Marissa Meyer’s other work and I KNOW her writing style and I should have expected the TWISTS of this story, but no. I was BAFFLED!

I honestly cannot form a fully coherent thought on this book currently, I am just overwhelmed with its greatness. It is so immersive, I feel like I am there with the characters and I hurt with them equally!

Just… masterpiece. I know I feel strongly about her other books, but I swear I am not being biased right now - she truly is THAT good.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked the alternative take on hero’s and how not actually heroic they are. I’m excited to learn more about max and I was not expecting his abilities. I did however have several issues. First I did not like that there was a relatively strong promotion of homosexuality. I know that that is controversial but I believe it’s wrong. It took me out of the story and made me unsure whether I wanted to keep reading. I decided because it’s not a main character that I would give it a little longer. I’m glad I did but I wish it hadn’t been a theme. My other big issue was around the ending. No spoilers but I felt like the thing that happened didn’t make sense with certain characters feelings throughout the book. The character had talked to much about the “thing” With certain feelings that it was unbelievable that they knew about this thing. Hopefully that makes sense. Overall I enjoyed immensely but am not certain I would reccomend it because of moral issues I had with it.

UGH I LOVED THIS BOOK

1. Adrian and Nova!!! They're so perfect for eachother.
2. The book starting with a fight scene was just so fitting and interesting. I loved that
3. The fact that it's technically dual pov. EVEN if the chapters have no title/outright say whose pov it is, you find out fairly quickly and I love that!
4. I really hope book 2 is as good as this book. The title gives me hope that Adrian finds out Nova is Nightmare.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK

I really enjoyed the book, but it could've been 100 pages shorter.
