Insufferable. INSUFFERABLE. Nothing happens. It just keeps going in circles, it's so repetitive. I kept cringing every other page.
The first book at least had some semblance of a plot. Not this one though, as far as I got. Man I'm annoyed.

I reallyyy wanted to love this series…

Nothing really happens for the first 60% of the book, and it’s getting to the point where withholding answers is more irritating that intriguing. I love an info dump, and this does not have it, which is fine! Just not to my tastes…
The main character’s inner monologue is insufferable, I much prefer it when she starts killing people without regard and both loving & having sex without the guilt!!

I am enjoying the plot twists

There is almost entirely no plot. 90% of this book is smut. We finally start getting somewhere in the end chapters and then it ENDS?! I thought this was a duology (I’m dumb) and now I have to read two more books, neither of which are even published yet. What the hell. Guaranteed this and the next two books could be combined into 1 book if you eliminated 30 out of 35 sex scenes (approximately). I’m all for the spice but give me the story too!

The pacing is odd because the first half is a lot of repativie dialogue and not a whole lot going on adventure wise. There is a ramp up in smut which I don't mind but it seemed like after any little movement towards the goal, the characters needed to stop and bang it out.

It finally gets interesting at the end but then it feels rushed to get it over with. It definitely sets up the next book though and I will definitely read it but this felt like a long filler to tie the first and third books. I did enjoy seeing the growth of Estrella and her powers but that's all the character growth that happens.
