It finally gets interesting at the end but then it feels rushed to get it over with. It definitely sets up the next book though and I will definitely read it but this felt like a long filler to tie the first and third books. I did enjoy seeing the growth of Estrella and her powers but that's all the character growth that happens.

It's feminist in one line then in another I'm cringing from the language he uses with the MC. Kinda gives mixed signals as if the author herself was conflicted herself.
The world building was top notch as well as the friendships. The evolution of the MC is as well. I'm still looking forward to the next book.

The pacing aside, the world building was a bit odd. There wasn’t much explored or explained and what was shared was just regarding the fae/human mate bond. It felt that Estrella was literally in the same settings as book 1, and so the plot felt cyclical rather than linear, and didn’t showcase much character growth.
The last 20% of the book was quite good, but even then the main plot elements were rushed and confusing.
