The world building was really good and the ideas behind the magic system was really interesting. But I felt like the quality of the writing and lack of strong character development took away from that and many of the side characters didn’t have strong character development at all and felt like they were very much in the background.

I loved it so much. It was a great book. It started out slow with the lore dumping but it was definitely worth sticking with after a few days!

Is this a perfectly written book? Nope. Was it a definite five star read? Hell yeah! Love an author who is not afraid to kill people off, and if you combine that danger and tension with magic and dragons and an amazing slow-burn romance enemies-to-lovers story, then I’m all on board!
