I am absolutely and completely obsessed with this book. Xaden is the best fantasy male main character I’ve encountered in ages—maybe ever. That man is my baby’s father. No notes. I love him so much it makes me feel mentally unwell if I think about him for too long. Addicted. Truly. The Hunger Games vibes were everything, and the world Yarros created came to life in my mind thanks to her incredible use of imagery. I’m utterly obsessed with the aesthetic this book brought to life. Now, Violet Sorrengail… girl, you’re a little annoying. It’s not her fault—her mother is horrendous—but the constant "look how little I am" moments grated on me. Still, I absolutely love her and rooted for her the whole way through. This book was a thrilling, immersive ride that I cannot recommend enough for anyone who loves intense fantasy with rich world-building and characters you can’t stop thinking about.

I loved this book! It was fun and a page turner. I loved the main characters and the side ones too!

This book seriously had me gasping every couple of pages with twists and turns. You cheered, you got angry, you cried (a lot), and you swooned. It was tension filled and had me screaming at the book. But it was worth the wait!
