OMG! I only wish this book could be longer or have a second book about them,but other than that I love this book a lot as all the other books by Abbi I really felt curious about how Abbi will tell Captian story because of his secret job but she has never disappointed me I'm in love with the Vicents brothers as well as I'm really loving the field party I fell in love with all sea breeze. And obviously the Rosemary beach series have also a place in my heart ❤ I'm really eager for what's next of Abbi Glines books her work is my favorite get away from reality I'm already counting the days for read more of her!!

My first book of the year I finished and it was a Glines book. What a surprise! With this book, I didn't think it was as good as her others in the Rosemary Beach series.

We first met Captain in Rush and Blaire's book, on a boat. Every since that first encounter I've been intrigued. He was so mysterious and I just wanted to learn more.
River Kipping aka Captain has secrets. He's...I don't wanna say criminal per se, at least not to me, he just does criminal things(if that makes sense).
Rose Henderson is hiding something. Something from Captain. Her working for him was no coincidence. But captain doesn't know her, or does he?
Watching her made my chest ache in a way that didn't make sense. As if I...missed her.
There isn't a right way to describe this book. Abbi Glines always gets me. Her books are masterpieces. I loved every second of this book and I was shocked to how Captains book turned out. I wasn't expecting that. I love that about Abbi's writing/books, They're unpredictable. You find out early on somethings that happened that lead to the present, since this book was dual pov and it goes back and fourth to the past and present. But trust me it doesn't give you a whiplash. I just wish there was more. It was cut too short. I love the Rosemary Beach series so much that no words can describe my affection towards them. Overall, Can't wait to read more.

I've been a big fan of Abbi's Rosemary Beach series since I first met Blaire and Rush waaaaaaaay back when in Fallen Too Far. Each new couple has found a way to win my heart and make me root for them. It took a little longer for Captain and Rose, but I eventually came around.
Captain and Rose's history is complicated. Of course, I'm not going to get into all that because I don't want to spoil anything for you going in, since the blurb doesn't give a whole lot away. I feel like I kinda figured out where the story was going pretty early on so there wasn't a lot of twists or turns from my perspective, but that doesn't mean I didn't still enjoy it. Rose was a great character. She was a wonderful mom and her daughter, Franny, was about the cutest girl ever. Rose was hard-working and likable. I'd been intrigued by Captain since he first appeared in the series and I was anxious to get his story. I have to admit though, I was a little put off by him at first. I didn't care for his plaything Elle, but I didn't like how he treated her either. He did redeem himself in my eyes eventually, but it took some time. His one saving grace from the beginning was that he was nice to Rose, so I let the other behavior slide a bit. Plus, as more of his past came out, I felt more sympathetic to the loss he suffered, so that helped too.
Though the story was predictable and a little too short for my liking, I still enjoyed The Best Goodbye. I wish we would've gotten a little more time with Captain and Rose as I feel there is still some more story there, but I do suspect I'll see them in the next Rosemary Beach novel, so I have that to look forward to. Abbi does a great job of giving us peeks into the lives of some of our favorite characters and couples from previous novels with each new addition and I love that. It's always great to catch up and see how life is treating them.

River “Captain” Kipling ha pasado por una gran cantidad de eventos en su vida que lo han moldeado en el hombre que es ahora. Su estadía en Rosemary Beach es el primer paso para algo más tranquilo, son embargo, los fantasmas de su pasado han venido entre sueños a atormentarlo, y de alguna manera esto está siendo catalizado por Rose, una camarera pelirroja que oculta algo. Pero a estas alturas Captain cree que lo mejor sería mantenerse alejado de ella y evitar evocar el dolor que lo cambió por completo.
Rose Henderson está en la búsqueda del padre de su hija, sin embargo, el hombre que encuentra no es el mismo quién la amara tan intensamente y eso le rompe el corazón. No puede dejar que alguien así se acerque a su hija.

Recuerdo que cuando leí la historia de Blaire, me emocioné de mil formas diferentes. Y luego, con Grant, las cosas siguieron por buen curso, Abbi es experta en drama tipo de telenovela y de vez en cuando es bueno distraerse con ese tipo de lecturas, así que siempre volví por más.
Desafortunadamente, cuando llegué a When I'm gone, sentí que toda la historia estaba perdiendo un poco la proporción y los personajes y sus personalidades se entre mezclaban y la verdad es que sentí que estaba leyendo más de lo mismocoff, coff se parecía demasiado a Breathe, y en algún punto perdí el interés por saber más acerca de los personajes que faltaban, además que en mi opinión Kiro's Emily fue lo mejor de lo mejor y no hay nada que le llegue a la altura.
Con The Best Goodbye me parece que la autora regresó a su carril.
Me gustaron ambos personajes, estando más que acostumbrada al tipo de protagonista que a la autora le gusta crear, mujeres con cierta fuerza pero que lucen delicadas e inocentes, quienes al final, harían lo que sea por amor.
En cuestión de desarrollo, creo que el pasado de ambos tuvo muy buena narrativa. Disfruté leyendo sobre todo esas partes.
Lo he dicho un montón de veces, pero lo diré las necesarias. Los niños en una novela pueden ser una gran adición o un recurso estorboso y Franny afortunadamente es un personaje ligero y que acompaña bastante bien la trama, aunque si me hubiera gustado tener más escenas con ella y Captain.
Lo mismo me pasa con el pasado y todo el asunto del balazo que recibe en la pierna, creo que hubiera enriquecido la historia si algo de esto fuera presentado.
Y eso es lo que me molesta, en mi opinión, este libro puedo ser uno de los mejores, llegando al nivel de los primeros, pero hicieron falta muchas piezas, se sentía incompleto, como que la autora se estaba guardando algo o no tuvo la suficiente inspiración como para darle ese plus que es capaz de impregnar a sus series.
Sin embargo, lo que más me decepcionó, fue el final. Se sintió como un corte precipitado, ni siquiera se me dio un epílogo, nada. Sólo un cierre brusco que no me dejó para nada satisfecha. El algún review leí que Abbi estaba escribiendo como si se tratase de fanfics y ¿honestamente? con detalles como este es comprensible por qué sus lectores estamos sintiendo como que nos queda a deber.
Sé a qué me atengo cuando leo una novela de Abbi Glines, ya que tiene una fórmula que utiliza en cada novela, y mientras estoy bien con eso, no estoy acostumbrada a que escriba con tan poco esfuerzo, como hizo con este libro, o la serie Sweet, que en serio es horrible.
Espero que recupere su toque con la historia de Nan, aunque debo de ser sincera, la sinopsis no me atrae demasiado, y es una pena porque he estado queriendo leer acerca de Nan desde los primeros libros, además, mis expectativas son muy altas con la serie Sea Breeze meets Rosemary Beach, así que ya veremos cómo va eso.
