Look I love references that allow you to have a character that is nerdy and dirty(specifically that BadDragon one), I’m all for that but I found Wendy to be extremely immature and mostly unlikeable. In the audio book the transition between fantasies and reality, as well as between the characters was REAL lacking and it came off as a complete run on. Janet could have been like-able in that Dom kind of way but her unhealthy copping of taking her emotional hurt out on Wendy wasn’t okay with me, so even though they talked safewords, and there was an attempt at discussion limits like healthy adults, I still wouldn’t count this as healthy kink. Idk this was kind of all over the place and really hard to follow along with. It felt like a ramble of ideas without much cohesiveness.

An honest review thanks to NetGalley. This was an amazing read that I loved from the very first chapter; it was an exciting read and even more than that but made me not want to stop. I only had one complaint which ruined the five-star rating for me. As we were in Janet's viewpoint, it seems as if she had OCD, especially at being clean and her routine in the morning and night, it just ended with that. It seemed as if this was just glossed over when more than this it seemed like an intricate part of Janet that we barley saw. As if the author just threw it in the book, I wanted a lot more information. Overall this was a great read that I will be reading again.

I enjoyed:
  • The humor is laugh-out-loud funny.
  • Anastasia Watley slays it.

Not my jam:
  • More D/s and power dynamics stuff than I find engaging.
  • The "kinky inscrutable boss" thing doesn't do anything for me.

It’s hilarious, sapphic, with a bit of kink mixed in for good measure. I’m all about Star Wars jokes juxtaposed with major character development of the serious variety. It plays well for me.
