Semyon and Anna grew up with each other and Anna always knew that his family wasn’t the safest, but she got to see sides of him that no one else did and they had always endeared him to her. They haven’t seen each other in years and now that Anna’s brother is in trouble the only one, she can turn to is the guy that broke her heart and what she thinks her whole life. Semyon is unique because he is ruthless, cold, calculating, but with Anya we see a different side to him. These two have their work cut out for them since there are others out to get them and they don’t know who they can truly trust. I loved the ups and downs of their story, the analytical thinking way of Semyon and his softer sides, the family bonds and the downright loyal ruthlessness.

Haven't realized how much I've missed a good Mafia Romance till I started reading Unveiled  and couldn't put it down. Who needs sleep when you've got the perfect plot and the most perfect MCs, I sure don't.
Anya and Semyon are just perfect for each other. The way she cares for her family and the way she just understands Semyon was so touching. And Semyon man that man is perfection personified.  Even minor characters stood out to me, in particular Eli and Zoya god I hope there's something between them I just get that vibe from them, and Steffan was the cutest he had me wrapped around his finger. Can't wait to see what's next.

This is my first book by this author and in this series and I was hooked. I could not put Seymon and Anya's story down. Seymon is best friends with her older brother, Eli, and has been since they were kids. When he disappears, Seymon gets word of Eli's betrayal and Anya's "sale" and steps in to make sure nothing bad happens to her. Anya has always been Seymon's crush, but he was trying to protect her from his world. When Seymon's brother suggests that they get married to save her and strengthen the family's power, he reluctantly agrees.

Anya hates Seymon, and blames him for her mother's death. She is struggling to keep her family's bakery going because of her father and his debts. She tries to remain distant, but past feelings surge back to the surface and she sees him in a whole new light. Will Anya forgive Seymon for the past, betray him, or will they get their HEA and everything they both ever wanted?

There was so much in this book that I liked. I loved how easily his family accepted her and made them one of their own. I think that there are many facets to Seymon that we don't get to see in the story and that there was more to uncover. The one thing that I discovered is that he is very analytical and thinks about everything before he acts. A great example is the chess scene between Seymon and Anya where she is able to tell him what's going on it was very clever. This story is full of twists and turns and keeps you on the edge of your seat. This book is rated as a dark romance, but to me it wasn't that dark and I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend it.

Thoughts: This series keeps getting better with each new installment. Jane Henry somehow keeps writing dark romance that doesn’t feel depraved or taboo. She has a way of making morally grey characters vulnerable and likable, and you can’t get more morally grey than Semyon.

Semyon and Anya were once best friends, but now have become enemies. They both have misconceptions about one another, but when Semyon has the chance to marry her, he jumps on it. Anya may be his best friend’s little sister, but she’s in over her head and Semyon is more than happy to save her.

I really liked the way Semyon and Anya slowly realized they had misjudged each other. Semyon was such a fun MMC because he struggled to understand social cues and emotions and didn’t think he could love, but Anya had always been different to him. Anya really threw Semyon’s world into chaos, but ultimately she was his perfect partner.

Synopsis: Anya has spent her life holding her fractured family together, but when her reckless brother racks up a dangerous debt, she becomes the price. The Irish, enemies of the Kopolov family, demand collateral—her. Before she can grasp the weight of her brother’s betrayal, Semyon Kopolov, her childhood protector turned enemy, steps in with an ultimatum: marry him, in return for her safety. Semyon has always kept his distance from Anya, believing her too innocent for his violent world, but he won’t let the Irish take what should be his. Their manipulated marriage is one of convenience—on the surface. Beneath it simmers a tangled web of resentment, unspoken longing, and undeniable attraction. Anya wants nothing to do with the man she blames for her mother’s death, but when her younger brother, Stefan, goes missing and is later found, Semyon shows a different side to his cold exterior. As they settle into married life, the walls between them begin to crumble. Anya sees the man behind the power, and Semyon finds himself desperate to earn the affection he never thought he wanted or deserved. However, their enemies are circling and eventually attack. Anya is blackmailed into betraying her husband, facing an impossible choice: risk losing Semyon’s trust or the lives of her only family left. When Semyon deciphers the truth, he is furious about the situation, but knows he must protect Anya because she is his. He devises a plan to ambush the Irish, and discovers the identity of the mastermind behind the family’s recent attacks. After succeeding, and all is forgiven, Semyon and Anya move forward towards a future together.

Thoughts: This book was such a page turner, with either suspense or tension greeting us in every scene. We learn how different, particular, and cold Semyon is, but I found him quite endearing. It was cute seeing some of his interactions with Anya, and him discovering his feelings for her. I loved Anya’s feisty personality, which was just the right amount to shake up Semyon’s world. I really enjoyed the flash back scenes from their childhoods, and how sweet they were to each other then. They always cared for one another, and finally get their chance together, despite the long, difficult road getting there. I thought the added element of Stefan was important to the story. He was true innocence, but required set boundaries as well. Anya and Semyon had to work together and both provide the right mixture of parenting Stefan needed, but never got before. I imagine they will be great parents, if they ever have their own children. I’m glad no hard lines were really crossed when Anya was being blackmailed. I liked the scene where she used chess to relay a message to Semyon. It showed us how far their communication and understanding of each other has come. I am skeptical of Semyon’s cousin, Matvei, especially after Anya’s comments. It’ll be interesting to see how everything plays out next.

Jane Henry does it again with another Kopolov brother masterpiece. I like these men almost as much as I liked the Romanovs, but the real stunner in this one is Anya!

Anya is such a well written character. I love that Jane did the flashbacks so we could see the development of a relationship between her and Semyon, and I think it really added to the concept that Anya always intends to hold her own with him. When she walked up to him that first time in front of all his men, holy cow I was a little worried for her. It was like that moment as a child when you hear your sibling talk back to your parents and you’re like uh oh are you crazy bro? That’s how I felt about Anya like girl, noooo, don’t do it girl, but she was not taking his shit.

Not that we should be surprised because she’s practically been keeping her brothers alive since her mom died, until her older brother, Eli, goes MIA and Semyon steps in to help them both out of their situation.

I wasn’t sure about Semyon at first. The cover model looked a little professorish to me, but it kind of makes sense once you meet him. I can now totally see his Superman vibes. I love how he developed from this standoffish, unable to “feel” man into a loving human being for Anya.
