I love that this is a vampire novel where the vampire doesn’t want an 18 year old girl, but a 30 something with financial instability. So much more relatable!

It was cute and funny in the beginning, but quickly began getting boring. Characters were one dimensional. I’m pretty picky about the traditionally published rom-coms I read. Unfortunately I ultimately didn’t vibe with this and ended up DNFing it after a hundred or so pages. Too bad.

I want to start off by saying I don't normally read romance novels, or anything close to it. But I saw the book cover and title and thought it sounded interesting and unique so I gave it a chance. It was a fun and easy read, and most of the novel is the main character falling in love with her vampire roommate but trying to not admit that she is. It gets a little tired and repetitive, but eventually leads to a spicy sex scene that I think is supposed to be sexy but ended up just making me really uncomfortable because of the verbiage used. Some of the adjectives used were...a choice. It then becomes more serious for the last 50 pages, which I appreciated but it feels really rushed. Overall, it was a fun book but I think it was trying to be too many things instead of sticking to just one tone or idea.
