I loved this book!!!

If you’re a lover of classic romance then you’ll definitely love this book. It filled with giggles and laughter that reminds you just how fast you can overlook the present for the future. I would definitely recommend this book a true 10/10 in my opinion!!

Teen time travel melodrama....

Perhaps, if I was a bit younger and still in high school I might have enjoyed the book a little more.

I thought this was going to be a quick read as the blurb sounded exciting and I always love reading something with a sliding doors feel and a time travel element. However, I do think the marketing did a good job at fooling me into excitement to the point i feel slightly deceived.

This book turned out to be more YA (young adult) than I had hoped and expected. Overall, this book just did not do it for me and fell flat.

The premise sounded good. Two teenagers in the final year of school gearing up to the excitement of prom. Only that Charlotte/Char and JT were the bane of each others lives. Then one day, they both have a fall and are transported in time to when they are now both grown up and married.

This sounded right up my street and was intrigued to see how their relationship played out. However, I found it a real struggle to keep reading on at times. I didn't really connect with any of the characters. And, especially Char I found to be completely insufferable. She was so frustratingly annoying and could hold a grudge like her life depended on it. She was extremely self-centred, driven and organised, yet simultaneously insensitive, vindictive and clueless.

I rather liked JT and he appeared to have a softer side. I actually started feeling sorry for him and started to question what he saw in Char.

I actually enjoyed reading the future sections more and liked the idea that not just one character had been transported, but both. Again though, I felt there could of been more potential to see how both characters had changed and how they looked back on their teenage years. I wish the future sections had been longer and that perhaps when Char and JT returned to the present, there was more acknowledgement between the two of them on the moments they spent together in the future.

Instead, I felt most of the interactions were plagued by jargon, pop references that did not feel like 2024, repetitive arguments and constant teen melodrama. It didn't feel meaningful.

Overall, I was hoping this book to be full of fun, sweet moments and humour. And, although there was some, there was not enough. I was also hoping that there would be more emphasis on transformation, self-discovery, and the characters coming of age. Yet, this book has left me feeling disappointed.

This book, sadly for me, was rather predictable and formulaic. I was glad when I got to the final page. This book could of been, so much more, and for me doesn't contribute anything new to the YA genre. It was just a teen from enemies to lovers time travel melodrama.

JSXVJSWH38:)/$?;827:8:$3$;!:$:) so, i really really liked this. like i completely adored it. this could’ve had 300 more pages and i would’ve been so pleased. the dynamic between charlotte and renner was just too good. the plot was just too good, and i think that is the reason i need more. i would’ve loved more time spent with them being older and navigating that. or maybe… an epilogue of it. something about books like this get me. and it Got me.

thank you to publishers and NetGalley for this arc!
