3.5. there were parts about this i loved, especially the recipe chapter openers and the bacchanalian parties. but parts of it were a bit of a drag, too. i think williams could have leaned much more into the gritty feminine chaos of the supper clubs, and turned this into more of a genre novel; it felt like that was missing, a bit, for me.
