Such a delightful, funny read. I thought it was excellent, it made for a great read aloud and good conversation.

It's been a while since I read this series, so I don't remember everything as well. But! I do remember that it is very dumbed down for the young audience, I guess. At one point, some king mistakes a man for his spy and literally just... Admits that he's supposed to be meeting a spy. He straight-up asks which one of them is Lanceor (neither is) and then says he doesn't really care about the names of his spies anyway and proceeds to talk important matters over without checking the identity of either man... Very convenient.
What I also know is that these books are a lot less violent than the other Round Table series by Gerald Morris and there's a lot less questionable content. I enjoyed it, it was a fun little adventure.

hah. Funny little knights prophecy tale that pokes fun at traditional "prophetic" stories. Short, cute, and has fun little illustrations too.

Fast, easy, and full of vocab words that will have every parent and teacher happy to hand this book out to their kids to read. Fifth grade to eighth this is a book that is about one of the lesser known knights of the round table. I had never known about this series and now that I do I'm going to be on the lookout for them.

this is the 'lol prophecy' book of the series

balin gets a childhood prophecy that says he'll do great things but they'll go sour and he'll generally bring misfortune to all those around him. things proceed as you'd expect. confirmation bias is a thing that happens. everything ends happily ever after!

What a riot! I haven't read any other versions of the King Arthur stories, so I can't compare. But man, I had so much fun with this little book. It's clever, irreverent, and an exciting adventure with tons of gloriously funny twists. It's meant for younger readers, but that didn't matter at all, I had a blast.

I love these short Knights' Tales books almost as much as the longer Squires' tales ones. Gerald Morris is a master at retelling King Arthur stories and this one is no exception. The right amounts of humor, adventure, and sword play make this a fabulous story for all ages.
