I really enjoyed this one! I felt it answered all my questions from the last one and wrapped up all the loose plot holes in a way that was thrilling and suspenseful.

Sarah is incredibly unlikeable, but I think that's what makes her character so good. She's cruel and cunning, and getting this insight into the human psyche is so good. I loved trying to anticipate her next move, as you didn't know what would come next or be said next. Having this sort of villain perspective, as well as the unreliable narrator trope, really added to the reading experience. I didn't necessarily emotionally connect with her, but could understand her actions to a point. She felt a bit more human in this one, as the love and dedication to her daughter was strong and this was definitely felt by the reader. She had so much depth to her character through her wild actions, and as you were reading you were peeling back layer upon layer. Whilst she wasn't a great character, the way the author wrote her made her unhinged behaviour enjoyable. There were a few side characters which played important roles, but none of them were memorable enough to note.

The author turned everything up a notch in this one! I felt her writing really shone and was able to capture the readers attention throughout the whole book. It was addicting and her ability to use suspense and tension in key moments really added that impact. The plot was great and innovative, and the pacing was just spot on. I literally was on the edge of my seat, and whilst you are able to guess some twists, the shock-factor is still there. You can never guess just how manipulative and cruel they really are. I think this takes true talent to achieve this, as she was able to engage the reader thoroughly. She also turned down the dramatics a bit here which I loved because it made it feel that more realistic and probable. The first one felt a bit out there, but this one was just perfectly executed. She was able to tidy up some plot holes from the first one, which just added to the overall more enjoyable experience reading this one. I think it's also amazing that there is so much action in this one, but you never feel lost. It's all worth it and all adds to your enjoyment of the novel. It's a crazy, wild ride but so much fun.

The only thing that kept this from being perfect was that I wanted a little more from the characters. Yes, the plot and action is what made this novel so good, but it can only go so far. You need some likeable feature in a character to get that emotional connection. I find if I don't have that sort of connection to them on a deeper level, I can't necessarily enjoy them and understand them fully. I also think the twists could have been more innovative! I did say that I didn't mind because she makes them work, but I think to really elevate her writing and storyline in the future, less predictability would work in her favour. This just ensures interest and engagement from the reader through the entire novel.

Overall, this was definitely a step up from her other books I've read! It was a crazy ride, but so enjoyable and worth it.

I was quite shocked about this book. I was like why marry him if you knew you’d divorce him. It was different compared to the first book. I loved how she said you’re lucky the only thing I’m doing is divorcing you. A small part of me thought Sarah was the cause of all the women disappearing but all signs pointed to Bob or someone else. But when Sarah was ‘killed’ I was like wait a minute you can’t kill a bad b*tch like Sarah Morgan. And then my girl talked her way out of death. Bob’s death was poetic justice because he went out thinking Sarah was dead. I may have screamed when Sarah opened the door for the police when we thought she was dead. When a girl gets the justice she deserves (even when she murders someone) it’s quite amazing I might say. She was always one step ahead, even when you assumed she wasn’t. Great job Jeneva, you’ve done it again! I LOVE IT!!! Will definitely be reading more of your books.

Interesting twist!

Just like her first book, this book has a great twist in it and just when you think you’ve figured it out you get surprised!
