Just Okay

I honestly thought this was just okay. It was a struggle for me to finish it. Their connection was just blah. To me It felt like she was more connected and attracted to Stefan physically and mentally and just physically to Hayes. She had deep morning talks with Stefan and nothing like that with Hayes. It’s like Hayes was second fiddle.

Loved this.  It was a super cute fun read.  No 3 act breakup.  Just lots of sharing fun.

I think I’m going to like having a temporary husband and a secret boyfriend very, very much.

I really enjoyed the second book in this series. It had a different vibe to book 1 but was still quite enjoyable. Ivy, Stefan and Hayes are a great throuple - I adored the "meet cute" between Ivy and Hayes but Stefan's attraction to Ivy was also really good. Add in a Vegas trip and this is a lot of fun, a lot of laughs and plenty of heat!

The only issues I had with this story involved my own personal "icks". The story was well written, like it's prequel, and the voice actors were excellent.

Book 2 in the My Hockey Romance series is ok, I didn't hate it or love it. It felt pretty rushed.

Ivy, the FMC is reeling from a break-up and her boss's upcoming nuptials. She is a fashion writer, so decides to branch out and do her own thing. Meanwhile, Hayes is the new guy on the NHL team alongside Stefan, the captain of the team. Ivy ends up being the mascot, and on a trip to Vegas, she ends up getting hitched to one, per a "dare". Then the other steps in...

The writing was ok but it felt choppy for Lauren's usual style. I'm a fan and love her romcoms for the laughs and the smut, but this one just didn't quite do it for me.

I liked this book a lot more than the first book, mainly because of the pace of the relationships. The unlikely HEA was still there, very easy, but I’m a big fan of no third act break up. The spice was FIRE and the characters were lovable. fun, easy, potato-chip read 😊
