The Box Of Delights has been one of my treasures since I saw the BBC show when I was growing up. Like so many, I was captivated by the magic of it. My sister got me the book years later, and I loved that as much or more.

In more recent years, I have very much enjoyed picking up the soundtrack and the full cast bbc radio production. I still haven't been able to find the unabridged audiobook but I will keep looking.

I heard on twitter in recent years about the live drama production and would have loved to go if I lived in England.

If you are a box of delights junkie like me and are interested in all of this culture connected to the box of delights and to Masefield in general, this book is a must. It is very well researched and written by an obvious lover of the author and book. It's really a fascinating look at how a story can continue to be popular and even grow as generations pass.
